Passed Level 1!

Fiona & myself went for Level 1 Lesson 4 "Scooter & Swizzle" on Saturday morning and passed that session. We proceeded for the Evaluation class in early afternoon, together with another lady. Our tester was Mr Seet, whom also taught us during our Level 1 Lesson 4 in the morning. After the usual heel stop, A-frame turns, scooter and swizzle drill, we were taken aback when Mr Seet told us that he'll be bring us to a sloped ground a distance away and we have to skate along the cycling / skating path to reach the slope. Fortunately both of us have tried skating "outside" so it wasn't as scary for us and we managed to pass the test. The lady wasn't that lucky though as she'd probably too scared with the "outside" skating experience, coupled with the steeper slope that Mr Seet tested us on (we're supposed to perform a heel stop and slide down the slope). She just kept on falling down, as if her legs were suddenly jelly-like.

Sunday, we started Level 2 Lesson 1 "Stride 2 & One-leg balance". Both Fiona & myself were able to do Stide 2 decently (at least to pass) but we weren't so lucky with One-leg balance though. We've also learned Level 2 Lesson 2 "Toe Roll & Heel Brake 2" but didn't pass that as well. Guess we just have to put in more effort next weekend.

After the skate classes, the blistered wound on my right foot feels terribly painful. I must've aggravated the wound during the classes, made worse by the One-leg balance lessons when all my body weight was rested on that foot. Hope my wound heel fast so that I can continue with my skating lessons next weekend (and my upcoming trip to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah).
